Today we went to the other Universal Park, Islands Of Adventure. We rode many rides, saw many things and had a lot of fun.
The highlight was the Harry Potter ride which was even more amazing (and technologically mind-boggling) than the one we went on at the other park. The ride is housed in and under a reduced scale Hogwarts castle that towers over the Harry Potter section to great effect.
There are also areas themed for Jurassic Park, Dr Suess, Marvel Comics and Kong (amongst others).
We’ve been very lucky with lines and have had minimal waits. This is good for obvious reason, but it means we don’t often get to appreciate the amazing line design which can sometimes be as impressive as the ride.
That’s the Hulk rollercoaster. I rode it alone; perhaps it’s too scary for KLS! It’s an incredible coaster, one of the best I’ve been on, and was worth the longish wait in a hot line.
It was very hot yesterday and after three days of exertion we both started collapsing in the early afternoon. Braver souls may have ridden one of the several water rides (like the one above) but we declined and instead headed back to our lovely room for some well-needed R&R.
We need to rest: we’re doing it all again tomorrow at Disney!
