Pixel People

Are you playing Pixel People on iOS? If not, you should be. It’s one of the most addictive and fun time suckers on the system.

I’ve put quite a bit of work into my town. Here it is, in a montage I created myself:

pixeltown

Firstly, roads are superfluous. They add nothing to the city, and I only include them for aesthetic purposes.

The most important part of the town is in the lower right. That big crop of trees is my Utopium farm. Utopium is the games secondary currency that can be purchased with real money. It’s used for many, many different things in the game, and I’ve got this far without ever buying any since it can also be collected from trees. Lots of trees = 25 Utopium every day 🙂

I have 201 of the (currently) 211 jobs, and the town shown above fills 245 parcels of land. One of the cool additions in a recent update was 0-land items, including the shrines down the lower right side and the pink trees. Such things can be won at the casino!

Right now I need more land and more accomodation, and I’m slowly updating all residences to the maximum occupancy type (the dark buildings along the top are where my guys live). Eventually all my residences will be 6-occupancy.

In time I’ll also add more city squares (I have 3 so far) and taverns (1 so far) to increase my ‘cps’ (coins-per-second) revenue, which will then all be turned into animals, shrines, 0-land buildings or Utopium at the casino.

Sounds like a lot of work, doesn’t it? Well I only play for a few minutes every few hours, so in short it’s more like a game that fills pauses. I’ve been playing for 3 months now. I wonder how long it will last?
