Yesterday I went to a hardware store, looked around for a bit, and then asked an employee to show me where the
were. He looked at me a little strangely, and then guided me to the
section…
Then, a little closer to home, I stopped at another store. I did the same thing, and this time the employee didn’t hesitate, and walked me a couple of aisles over to the
display!
And yes, this is a true story 🙂
I get this sort of thing all the time. Especially when saying or spelling my name. It’s amazing how many Americans don’t know that the last letter of the alphabet is ‘zed’. 🙂
It took me a while to get behind the third shop assistant’s thinking… of course, the American’s lazy way of speaking.
