And so the summer ends again, or will this week. Next week classes start anew, and I’m taking time this week to prepare at least the first two weeks of lectures and homework.
I’m teaching Modern Physics again, as I did this time last year. My class is much bigger this time – a full enrollment of 30 students plus two others seeking admission. I’m looking forward to it – should be challenging and rewarding.
In addition to teaching I’m switching tack to theoretical work after finishing off (sortof) the experiment we were doing. I haven’t actually started the new work since we’re waiting on information from the sponsor (NASA). What I do know is it will be some type of computer simulation.
One last task I hope to complete before school resumes is painting the front steps. We have 4 days of forecast sun – the first time this has happened in months – so my hopes are high I can get it done this week (possibly even tomorrow). Keep your fingers crossed for me!
