Yesterday Sue and I drove up to Nelson Bay. It was a lazy day, where we climbed Tomaree…
Had some lunch…
Did some shopping (for Bernard’s Christmas gifts)…
And briefly stopped at a beach…
Doesn’t look nice does it? Lots of seaweed on this (dogs) beach, and I can assure you the swimmers beaches around the head were much prettier. Also the sky looks overcast but there was no rain – or even threat of rain.
Later in the day, after being tipped off by Sue, I walked to a restaurant near mum and dads called ‘Pizza & Pinballs’.
The owner is clearly a pinball enthusiast, with 6 games (in superb condition) available to play in the front room, and apparently more in the party room out back. In addition, the decor is all pinball-related, with posters and advertising sheets and photos. He also has a small library of pinball books to peruse.
Of course I played all the games (Rocky & Bulleinkle was best), and I wish I’d known on this place earlier so I could go back again. Absolutely worth a stop if you’re in Broadmeadow.
Today’s my last full day in Newcastle and it’s forecast to be shockingly hot. I guess that means sweat and sunburn 🙂
I can’t wait for my Kung-Fu Dragon gift! 🙂
