We went to NYC for a mini post-my-birthday vacation.
The weather was nice (by which I mean cold but no longer freezing cold) and we had a lovely room in a nice hotel. We didn’t have plans aside from shopping and spent the time visiting our usual favorite shops.
The city was – as always – very active and full of tourists from all over the world. This was especially so on Saturday when the city held a St Patrick’s Day parade. We didn’t attend, but many did and there were legions of people dressed in green everywhere.
That’s one of several buildings that made their lighting green to celebrate. Lord knows how a country as small as Ireland has gotten the world to celebrate its national day?
Our shopping was a big success! Amongst goodies for KLS and myself we did some ‘personal shopping’ for Bernard and got JBF what I consider was a pretty nifty birthday gift. I hope they both like what I’m sending them…
I also sent the usual bonanza of postcards, and (as usual) some of them feature some of my world-class artistic skills. If you’re lucky you may find a watercolour or pen-and-ink drawing in your mailbox soon!
It was a fun trip and a good break from work. Now it’s time to plan the next holiday…
