Dog Days

It was hot yesterday: in the high 80s. We took a very long walk around the neighbourhood at 4pm and amongst other things saw a large hawk sitting on some powerlines. He got skittery when I approached and I couldn’t get a better photo than this:

Dinner last night was barbecue’d steak, which was absolutely delicious!

Kristin lit up her incense pig for the first time. It was purchased on our 2004 Japan trip and never used. Ironically, the incense she burned was purchased on this past trip. The photo doesn’t show the scale; it’s about a big as a large coconut.

We use a fair bit of incense. Nearly all our incense comes from Bangalore in India. Margaret buys it at the Adamstown markets; she swears by the Indian incense.

We use incense as well, also from Bangalore, however we got it from the Indian grocery shop up the road. For some reason while in India it never occured to me to get any incense, despite it being everywhere.

We don’t have an incense pig though, we have a brass incense holder.
