“Life In The So-Called Space Age”
Soarin’ is a great ride. Riders sit in seats like you see here, and are then lifted up and forward until they are suspended in front of a MASSIVE screen. Video taken from the air is then played, during which the seats bank and turn as if on a hangglider. The effect is very convincing, especially since it is coupled with wind and even smell (at one point you ‘fly’ over an orchard and orange scent is pumped in). One of the best rides in any Disney park.
I look miserable don’t I? I was angry at the outrageous cost of our measly breakfast! Oh well, that’s behind us now. This very moment we’re in line waiting to ride Soarin’, the hanggliding simulator at Epcot. We’ll be in the park until about 2pm, then we’ll return the car and head to the airport.
Our last full day is done. The evening spent at Pleasure Island was great, and in addition to the very fantastic Disney Quest, KLS was able to buy a fancy new Tokidoki purse at one of the shops! Tomorrow evening we fly home, but in the morning we’re heading back to Epcot for another half day in a park! Goodnight for now 😉
