Today’s the big day…do I look another year older?
I had to teach, which isn’t the funnest thing to do on a birthday, but at least class went well (I think I did a good job of explaining FET’s). Lunch was way too much Ichiban with SFL (Tonkatsu & Pork Fried Rice + she ate a massive udon). Dinner was subs with KLS. Happily the weather was unusually warm, and we were able to walk. So I partially burned off lunch to squeeze in dinner.
Actually the last few days have been defined by overeating. Saturday evening we had dinner with JJ at a local Hibachi restaurant named Hokkaido. The food was fabulous, and the entertainment even better than our last visit. Notable was the onion volcano created by our chef. Check out this video to see what I mean. Sunday for lunch we overate delicious (and gigantic) hamburgers at Five Guys. By Sunday evening I felt like a whale (but apparently not enough to stop binge-eating cake and chips all night during a Warcraft marathon!).
Gifts you ask?
Well, the big one (thanks JJ) is what I am using right now:
< I named it 'Relics Point'
I really love this new Mac. So much so I wonder why I spent so many years ball-and-chained to my old PC (which was almost seven when retired). The simplicity of the Mac OS coupled with the performance of this machine makes me a happy user indeed.
KLS got me this:
< Lego Droid Carrier
Which is a lego kit I've had my eye on for some time. It has 1300+ pieces and comes with 21 minifigs. You can bet I'll blog about it when I get around to making it.
I received a slew of other items as well (including 1,000,000 calories of candy), but none more notable than these, hand-made by SFL:
< Cupcakes!
Maybe a commentor that knows Korean could translate for me :)
All told today was a good day.
