Best Of The Rest

As I said, every photo posted during our recent vacation was taken by my iPhone. Although it wasn’t used much, we also had a digital camera with us and this post contains the best shots from the camera.

I’ll start with a few shots taken from our room balcony:

Those were taken on different days, about a week apart. Both show the smaller of the enclores adjacent to our room. The hotel has multiple different enclosures to separate animals by type (although many different types are grouped together). This enclosure contained giraffe, zebra, ostriches and certain types of bird. The (much) large enclosure to the right of this one is where they kept most of the antelopey things. From our room we could see virtually every type of animal kept at the hotel, with the exception of red river hogs and okapi.

The above shot was taken by KLS in one of the walk-through aviary’s in Animal Kingdom. There are two different ones, and I think this bird was in the one dominated by weaver birds, most of which were building (weaving) their nests above the stream that flowed through the aviary.

These last two shots show how close the animals get to the drive-through safari that guests can go on at Animal Kingdom park:

We also got very close to a giraffe, but failed to take good photos ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m In The Airport Now

And so, as we wait for the plane, our vacation draws to a close. The week whizzed by at record speed (as all vacations seem to) but much fun was had.

In my one-man effort to keep an industry alive, I sent 23 postcards this trip. Most of them should have arrived by now. I hope they gave you a smile ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, I proved to myself that blogging from my phone (as every post this trip was done) is easy and effective. I’ll have to work out how to do that internationally ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh yes, all photos were taken from my iPhone as well, which is a much better camera than my actual digital camera!

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed the travelogue ๐Ÿ™‚

Last Day

The combined ‘savannas’ that are part of our hotel contain 230 animals. From our room we’ve seen about two dozen different types including (every day) zebra, giraffes and ostriches.

In this shot, taken after some afternoon rain today, you can see oryx, a vulture (drying its wings) and some antelope:

Today was the last full day of our Florida vacation, and we spent much of it in Magic Kingdom and Epcot. By mid afternoon we were so tired we had to leave, and since monsoonal rain began as we walked to the Fiat we weren’t a moment too soon!

The tiredness? It’s still here (I’m falling asleep making this entry), I think I’ll need a vacation to recover ๐Ÿ™‚
