Like A Hurricane

We stormed into our parent’s lives yesterday like a hurricane. Or rather, I did, and Bernard calmly followed. My ludicrous abundance of energy was mostly due to a sugary-food binge that hasn’t been seen in the southern hemisphere since January 2008 that occured the night before. I ate, like, 62 kg of candy and chips and downed Lift like frogs down flies!

My parents you ask? They’re both happy and well! We have a lot planned for the next ten days or so…

Bernard is sporting his new hat & sunnies in the above pic. Here’s a better shot, which brings to mind a certain movie poster

If you look closely you can see me in the above shot as well!

I’m eating, eating, eating. My shorts are tight today (they were fine yesterday). I’m drinking Lift faster than I can keep track of it as well, so consider the tally at the end of the day a low estimate from this point on.

Two food shots – yesterday’s lunch (Salt & Lemon) and todays lunch (guess what):

And here’s a shot taken at a seafood shop:

And one other taken in the grocery store, as proof to doubting Americans!

Last night we played Yahtzee! Bernard won both games, despite me using some of my special dice-shake and/or throw maneuvers such as ‘the tornado’ and ‘the slide’. I even unveiled a new move – ‘the shark’ – but allegations of cheating arose when it gave me a Yahtzee 🙁

Oh yes! There is lucky! He’s a cat, and he’s fat and happy and cute. Just now he asked I post the following message on the blog:

“Hola Emi, Yossie, Daisy, Mosley and Mitzi!” (Apparently Lucky is Mexican…)

Last but not least, a shot of Paris Hilton, who I now apparently think is cute. (The image, incidentally, is over 3 years old…)

A National Disgrace

Yesterday we went to the cricket.

We got there on time, but due to rain the game was delayed. And delayed. And delayed. This was hardly an issue though, since the company was fine and the food (and beer) kept coming. We watched as they repeatedly tinkered with the field trying to decide when to start the game.

The cricket finally began after lunch. Australia won the toss and elected to bat.

I’ll spare you the details, but the bottom line is Australia’s performance was the worst on home soil in 13 years (according to the paper). It was intriguing to watch, because as bad as they did, we were keenly aware we were watching history in the making! They ended up all out for 127.

Adam and Bernards friend Pat was with us, and after the cricket we went (back) to that great chinese restaurant at Fox Studios and stuffed ourselves. A lengthy four-player MTG game followed!

These next 2 photos weren’t from yesterday, but they are typical of most evenings at Adams place.

Oh and here’s a shot of a meal we ate twice so far this trip!

[Today I had one 600 mL bottle and 3 cans of Lift. The trip total is now 12.975 L]
