The scorpion coaster, which has been here for years. I took this shortly after the park opened, you can see how dead it was! We’ll ride this one after lunch!

The Sheikra’s much more impressive! Toward the end the car rides alongside some track with moats of water on each side. Funnels on the side of the rear car descend enough to shoot up the water into a giant plume, which you can see here. When I rode, I was in the rear car but had no idea this happened, so it’s more for the benefit of viewers than riders.

This is Sheikra, Busch Gardens newest and tallest coaster. It’s claim to fame is that both major drops are 90 degrees! I rode it just now, and found it more thrilling than scary. The best part of the very short ride was the hill at the end that gave a few seconds of weightlessness!
