Lego AT-AT

This post is a little late, but here’s a shot and brief video of the lego AT-AT

The video quality isn’t excellent, as I used my old Sony T1 camera. The previous videos were shot on KLS’s newer digital camera. I’ll be bringing the Sony to Australia though, and during that trip it will surpass 10,000 photographs taken (yep, ten grand). That’s a lot of memories from one little camera.

He may be ‘retired’ after the trip 🙂

With regards to this lego model though – it’s another amazing kit, and surely the standout from the 2007 line. It boggles my mind why this was online-only, because even at $110 it’s hands down better than any other kit this year. It was a great build as well. The innards are as complicated as you may guess they are!

The Inspiration

“His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead.”
James Joyce

It was a snowfall such as we got on Thursday morning that I imagine could have inspired a line like the one quoted above, from The Dead.

The snow must have drifted down, rather than fell, in a windless early morning, so delicately was it arranged everywhere. Rarely do snowflakes collect intact as they did yesterday morning.

By midday it had part-melted and refroze. It was just a blanket of ice by that point. The individual snowflakes had long since disappeared.

My God It’s Full Of Stars!

Clever things they are, these new plastic glasses that turn bright lights into fanciful displays such as stars, snowflakes or snowmen. Check out the before and afters:

I put the glasses in front of the camera lens before taking the rightmost photo.
